Established in 1990, Tamco Mechanical has been repairing and replacing a variety of electro-mechanical machinery and equipment. This includes rolling and sliding gates, detention security doors, and movable bridge machinery. For the past 30 years, Tamco has been providing routine and emergency repair services to Rikers Island and all NYDOC city-wide detention facilities.  We have had service contracts with the US Navy, the NYCDEP as well as providing our service to contractors doing work on movable bridges for New York City agencies.  Our in-house machine and fabrication shop provides rapid turnaround service for your machining and repair needs, whether it is rebuilding a pump or blower unit or fabricating new, hard to get parts, that are needed to complete urgent repairs.

We are highly experienced in the industrial equipment service and repair field. Our technicians have many years of experience. We routinely servicing a variety of equipment such as pumps, valves, motors, fan blowers, speed reducers, hydraulic equipment, controls and much more. Our experience in the construction field includes major installations and upgrades of equipment related to cooling towers, air handlers, and automatic temperature controls for the NYDOC facilities at Rikers Island. 

Our versatile staff consists of qualified engineers, mechanics, machinists, and welders. We can fabricate parts as per your specifications and drawings, as well as assist in designing them specifically for you. Our engineering department utilizes the latest Computer Aided Design equipment. Our CAD system is used for designing needed products as well as producing full size shop drawings. We use the latest software for drafting and designing models. We can assist you with materials selection, engineering reports, 3D modeling, and rapid prototyping.
